Jacqueline knows that coming to therapy can be daunting and places a great deal of emphasis in helping her clients feel comfortable and safe. She is interested not only in the problems that bring people to therapy but also the strengths and resources that they have used to manage. Jacqueline draws upon a wide range of different psychological models in order to find an approach that “fits” her clients and the situations they find themselves in.

She understands that the difficulties and suffering that we experience can arise for a variety of reasons. Jacqueline sees therapy as a way of helping people make sense of these difficulties, discover new and compassionate ways to manage and ultimately move towards a life that feels happier and filled with a sense of purpose.

Jacqueline began her post-graduate career studying for a PhD at University College London, investigating emotional well-being in children and adolescents attending elite schools for the performing arts. Although she loved research, she wanted to find a way to help people more directly. She went on to study for a doctorate in clinical psychology and completed this training in 2002, graduating from the University of East London. Since this time, she has worked both in the NHS and the private sector. She is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS)and a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She also works as freelance trainer, helping allied health professionals develop communication skills and bring psychological principles to their work.

Jacqueline has significant experience in providing psychological therapy to people across the lifespan, with expertise in working with children, adolescents and adults. She has also worked with people (and their families) affected by a range of health problems, including cancer, diabetes, gastrointestinal problems, weight/eating difficulties, chronic painand gynaecological and obstetric difficulties. Jacqueline is trained in a variety of evidence-based psychological models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), “third- wave mindfulness-based interventions”, Compassion Focussed Therapy and Family Therapy. Alongside, her qualifications in clinical psychology she is trained to teach the renowned mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) programme andhas also developed a programme specifically for teenagers.
