A Consultant Clinical Psychologist with experience in complex trauma, Clair brings a warmth and compassion to her work which creates a safe space to understand difficulties and create the best environment for recovery. Given her extensive experience in EMDR, CBT including schema therapy, CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), ACT and CFT, and also being a Psychosexual Therapist, she is used to supporting clients to move forward from shaming and difficult experiences, using integration of these skills.

Clair has 18 years of experience since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist from the University of Birmingham. This has been in CMHTs, several hospital departments supporting patients living with chronic and life limiting illness, including the Young Person’s Unit. She has also worked in complex trauma leading regional psychological therapies for a major UK Government Department, and continues in this role as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, whilst undertaking therapy for Hello Self. She has held the role of Assistant Professor researching Suicide and Autism in adults and EMDR for people with Intellectual Disabilities. She is a BPS registered Supervisor and supervises NHS psychologists extensively in EMDR, and works independently with young people with neurodevelopmental difficulties such as ADHD and ASD, and adolescent and adult mental health difficulties.

As a mixed heritage individual, Clair’s passions include helping clients who are from groups that may not often seek psychological help, and who feel apprehensive, so she makes particular effort to set clients at ease and follow your pace. She also enjoys applying approaches creatively and leading research to improve mental health and wellbeing.
